Running Update #2

I have now taken the first official step to becoming A Runner: buying running shoes. My aunt just took me to a running store in nearby Los Gatos, where the helpful salesgirl used all sorts of gadgety things to help determin what shoe would be best for me. Then I tried on several pairs and ran around the block in them. I finally decided on a pair of Asics which I love. They are cushy and support-y and actually make me want to run! Afterwards my aunt and I did a short jog/run at a nearby park-- just over 2 miles. And to think that only two weeks ago two miles seemed like such a feat!

I leave tomorrow for New York, which I'm both extremely excited about and... not. I cannot WAIT to see my friends and go to studio and make theater again. I cannot wait to be in the city, which is my favorite place on earth. I cannot wait to go to a museum or grumble about the excessively long Trader Joe's line or see Central Park covered in snow or watch the lights of the city come on. It's going to be lovely. But I will miss the phenomenal weather here and my family and my amazing bed (I've gained a newfound appreciation for beds since China) and homecooked food and a million other things.

I've been working on my project for the spring-- I got approved for a project I'm really excited about but am a little lost as to what the project will turn out to be. All in good time, I guess.
