Oh hey, T-Rex

In the Jade Buddha Temple I visted a few weeks ago, there was an entire gift shop filled with antique jade carvings: buddhas, horses, dragons, and one lone Tyrannasaurus Rex. What do you think I'm giving everyone for Christmas now?

Lately I've just been work, work, working.

... Kind of. More like procrastination, procrastination, procrastination. I haven't been out too much the past couple of days. I've just been trying to get my paper that's due Wednesday done, but have only succeeded in somehow losing the pages I'd already written and instead discovered Google's new online shopping store (dangerous) and watched movies while studying Chinese.

You know what's crazy? I leave Shanghai in a matter of a few short weeks. I'm kind of excited and kind of not at the same time. To be honest, barring actual home, I've never been less homesick in my life than here (sorry Mom and Dad). I've only recently felt pangs of homesickness, and they're not as bad as I feel in New York. I do really miss certain things, like over-commercialization of Christmas in New York City, American food, decent fruits and veggies, food that isn't fried within an inch of its grease-soaked life. But for the most part, I love my life here. Of course I'll be happy to go home. I miss my family and friends and theater and art and a bed that isn't hard as rock. Especially as it's nearing Thanksgiving, I miss the people I love.

Hope you're more productive than I am!
