Top ten things to do post-BFA and pre-employment

  1. Watch the entire Season One of Downton Abbey in a matter of days.
  2. Then watch the two-hour Christmas special. Find yourself rooting for Thomas, weirdly.
  3. Read every backpost of The Sartorialist you missed during your three and a half year undergrad.
  4. Shop online. Leave everything in your cart. Do not, I repeat, do not check out.
  5. Plan alternative careers. Housekeeping sounds nice once you've been turned down from being a doorwoman.
  6. Go to Trader Joe's, but bike home to save subway fare. Bike everywhere, actually.
  7. Go to the Met Museum. Hey, it's free.
  8. Work overtime at your unpaid internship.
  9. Rekindle all your blogs. All of them.
  10. Troll every job website ever for hours and hours. Apply to a minimum of three jobs a day, mostly more. Create a LinkedIn account. Send your resume to anyone who could possibly aid. After a week or two of this, something's bound to turn up, right?
Right?

P.S. Have actually done all these things. Including being turned down from being a doorwoman.
P.P.S. I still have hope.
